PRISM-21 (pPMR)

Polarimetric P-Band Multibeam Radiometer

experiment Overview

PPMR measures brightness temperature at H and V polarisations. It has a frequency band of 742-752MHz and is composed of a 4x4 array of dual polarized microstrip patches, with incidence angles of ±15˚ and ±45˚. The nominal beam width is 30˚. As for PLMR, calibrations will be performed before, during and after each flight. The before and after flight calibration is achieved by removing PPMR from the aircraft and making brightness temperature measurements of a calibration target and the sky. The in-flight calibration is accomplished by measuring the brightness temperature of a water body (Lake Wyangan).
